Jacques Brel was one of the best French singer-songwriter to live. He used to sing with a passion, his diction was excellent and of course, he sang mainly about love. Here is "Quand On N'A Que l'Amour" (When One Has Nothing But Love):
Claude François: you can't talk about French songs without mentioning "Cloclo"! This funny little man in a shiny suit used to be quite a star in France in the seventies. Perhaps the closest French equivalent of Elvis Presley, he also died before his time and I grew up listening to his music. This song is called "Cette Année-la" (That Year) and is about the events that happened around the World in 1962.
